Vera Filomena Blenderman Passed Away on May 29, 2025
Vera graduated from Montclair State College in 1948 and was a buyer for Lord and Taylor in New York City before her marriage to Gene R Blendermann on September 11, 1955.
The first 28 years of her 66 year marriage were spent overseas in Venezuela, Libya and Norway. Throughout this time Vera created a sense of welcome and belonging for a diverse group of families in every community of which she was a part. Her interest in family was genuine, attending every milestone in their lives. She was a gifted, brave, resilient, adventurous, and generous woman who traveled the world and whose influence was far reaching. In her twilight years she launched herself into yet another career- Real Estate, eventually becoming a manager at Houlihan Lawrence in Bronxville New York.
Vera passed on May 29, 2025 just 4 months shy of her 99th birthday, surrounded by her loving family: Lisa Blendermann (Paul Gomprecht), Dara Blendermann Casey, Larry Casey, Bryanna Casey (Doug Michaud), Brennan Casey, Cabrea Casey (Maggie Samson), Kaegan Casey (Annika Birnbaum) and her great granddaughters Vera and Benedetta Michaud.
A celebration of life will be held at The Knolls, 55 Grasslands Road, Valhalla, NY 10595 on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12 to 2 pm. In lieu of flowers we would be honored by any donation to Seeingeye.org, 978 539 4425 or Reclamthebay.org, 732 349 1152.
