State of Emergency
The Westchester County Executive has declared a State of Emergency related to the upcoming snowstorm. The news release reads as follows:
"Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins has declared a State of Emergency for the County effective Sunday at 6 p.m. in anticipation of the winter storm expected to impact the region beginning Sunday morning, with conditions deteriorating throughout the evening and overnight into Monday.
Forecasters are predicting heavy snow leading to hazardous road conditions, and high winds that may lead to downed trees and power outages.
Jenkins said: “We are taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of our residents. We strongly urge everyone to stay home if possible.”
Residents are advised to:
Avoid unnecessary travel, especially Sunday evening into Monday
Charge all electronic devices in advance in case of power outages
Secure outdoor items due to expected high winds
Monitor local forecasts and official updates
The Westchester County Departments of Emergency Services, Public Safety and Public Works and Transportation are prepared and will be actively monitoring conditions."
Village of Bronxville Snow Emergency
The Village of Bronxville has declared a "snow emergency." The Village news release reads as follows:
"In anticipation of a significant snow event forecasted for our area this weekend, a snow emergency has been declared effective for Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 5:00 P.M. through noon on Monday.
On-street parking and overnight on-street parking will be prohibited. No permissions for overnight on- street parking will be considered during this period. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and/or towed.
Snow Emergency Parking
During the snow emergency residents without private parking (such as a driveway or private garage) should use the Kensington Garage. Parking in the garage is available on the main level in areas noted as “P” public parking, “R” resident parking and/or “M” merchant parking. This will help facilitate snowplowing on primary and secondary roads.
If the garage is full, the following locations may be used:
-Garden Avenue Lot: Spaces closest to Garden Ave (the last row facing tennis courts)
-Kraft Ave Lot: Public spaces and trackside spaces between the entrance and Park Place
Reserved Parking:
Residents with reserved spaces in municipal lots (Colodny, Upper Kensington, Parkway Road, Maltby) are encouraged to relocate to the Kraft Avenue Lot overnight on Monday, February 23rd (far end of Lot closer to the exit). This will help facilitate the clearing of lot parking stalls on Monday evening after all primary and secondary roads have been cleared. It may also be necessary to extend this relocation additional nights depending on the severity of the event. You will NOT be ticketed if you relocate your vehicles to these locations.
Downtown parking enforcement will be suspended for Monday, February 23rd.
Other Important Information:
Sanitation Collection for Monday will likely be suspended depending on the severity of the event. This will enable the sanitation team to assist with snow removal. There will also be no bulk pick-ups the week of February 22nd.
Village Hall and the Public Library will likely be closed on Monday. Check the website for updated information on closures and delayed openings.
Sidewalk Snow Removal – Please make sure your sidewalks are shoveled, salted, and safe for passage. Please advise any private contractors clearing driveways that they are not permitted to plow snow into a public roadway. This will only hinder DPW snow removal efforts.
Please check the Village website homepage for further updates.
Thank You."

We believe everyone can make a difference by adopting simple, sustainable practices in daily life so we can work together to protect what we love -- our families, our homes and our town.
